Hong Kong travel
I have also loved traveling and I heard so many people who have the same passion as mine. And I think it is such a blessing to be able to see new places, meet people all over the world, and get acquainted to cultures, rituals and civilizations different from ours. And excitement reaches the maximum level when it comes to seeing the other part of the world, so far and unknown, which is Asia. And Hong Kong id considered being really a mixture between here& there, western& eastern, tradition & progress. It is a land where tradition is strictly followed and respected, but where people are not afraid to dream, to want more, to be clever enough to “steal” a little from the western civilization, borrow the good things and practices and implement them, but keeping the basis of their national background.
There are so many people all over the world going to Hong Kong on business, others to study or just travel. And there are also many who have simply fallen in love with the places and the people and have decided to stay and build up a new, challenging life. And when it comes to traveling to Hong Kong there are so many things to be mentioned that I don’t even know where to start.
If you travel to Hong Kong there are some tips you need to bear in mind, just making sure you are not broking some cultural habits: the most common greeting form is shaking, so don’t try the French kissing, I don’t think people will really appreciate it. When talking to someone, you should know that the family name always come first, so be careful how you address people, they are quite fancy about social etiquette. People use to go out and entertain themselves in restaurants, rather than in private homes, so try to keep the intimacy of those who invite you at their place. People from Hong Kong appreciate good appetite (you wouldn’t say so, since they all seem so fit) and a meal usually has about 12 dishes and they consider it cordial to taste them all. If you smoke, you don’t have to worry, since smoking is lately widely accepted, but mostly banned from the public places.
Now, if you planed a trip to Hong Kong, there are several ways to get there: traveling international you can always get there by air and you should be glad to know it has its own international airport. If you prefer to get to Hong Kong by water, don’t forget about the port. If you don’t like any of these methods, you can also get to Hong Kong by rail. Traveling by road is also accessible, from bus, tram, minibus, taxi or subway.
If you are into the night life, you’ll be disappointed to know the one in Hong Kong is quite poor, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t bars and clubs to choose from. Just make sure you take a guide if you go to Hong Kong and enjoy all the beauty of this famous combination between old& new.
